Public Interest Lawyer
We often come across cases where people who need legal representation cannot afford to hire a lawyer. In such cases, a public interest lawyer will voluntarily take on the case. These lawyers, who offer individualized legal services to their clients, are part of non-profit organizations and government agencies. They charge minimal or no fees from their clients because they usually work with charities or international organizations. These types of lawyers specialize in criminal representation, where they offer counsel to criminals who cannot afford legal representation on their own. In addition, they do non-profit work and launch class action lawsuits against large companies accused of malpractices that pose a risk to the community.
